Neurofeedback and ADD/ADHD
Did you know that there is a non-drug approach to reducing the symptoms of ADD and/or ADHD? In 2012 the American Academy of Pediatrics recognized neurofeedback as a Level 1: “Best Support” Intervention for ADD on par with medication. Children and adults with ADD/ADHD can learn to correct this brain wave pattern through brain wave training, thereby reducing or eliminating the need for medication. When you consider that all medications come with unwanted side effects, brain training is a healthy long-term investment. The results from neurofeedback can be permanent for many people. The kids I’ve worked with who have ADD often see significant improvements with twenty sessions of brain training. Not only are they able to keep on task at school, many parents have also commented that their child is sleeping better and has better overall behavior and communication than prior to brain wave training. And kids really enjoy the process. While they watch movies, their brain learns to balance itself.
